Great Wall of China
This assignment was to study and construct a part of the Chinese or Egyptian land or culture. I chose to make the Great Wall of China. I studied a lot about it and it was a very interesting topic. When I look at my project I think it is okay. I think the wall itself is good but, the mountains could have been a lot better. The mountains didn't really blend into the board. I am defiantly most proud of my wall. It took a while to glue all of the separate foam bricks together. If I did this project again I probably wouldn't do the Great Wall of China. I would do a Chinese dragon or an Egyptian mummy, village, or pyramid. I would definately work with a partner that I could work well with. To make the dragon I would make a skeleton like shape for the dragon and then cover it with red, orange, and yellow fabric. I would either mkae its head out of paper or make a clay head that I can paint. For the Egyptian mummy I would use an old doll and wrap it in gauze(like talula's). The mummy could also have a head made out of clay. Making a mummy would not be my top choice but, it would be fun to make. The village would have huts and the Yangtze river flowing through it. I would build the houses with clay and make the roof out of straw. The pyramid would be made of the same foam bricks I used to build my wall. There would be one big pyramid and two smaller ones next to it. The base of the project would be a thick poster board and I would glue pieces of sandpaper on to look like the desert. The most fun part about this project was getting to work with your friends and experience PIRL and use all the tools there. I really liked this project and I can't wait to do another one like it.
